vCoreServer Architecture Elements

vCoreServer Reliability & Scalability
The vCoreServer fault-tolerant design provides for graceful degradation and hot swap capabilities in the event of component or subsystem failures. Operating in multi-server mode, it provides load balancing to provide scalability and to manage changing demand efficiently.

Configuration options include:

Back up server
RAID-based storage to enhance data reliability, integrity and availability, even in the event of partial system failure
Redundant power supplies for 7x 24 availability

vCoreServer Application Integrity
The vCoreServer provides a trusted secure execution context which isolates and executes security sensitive applications separately from those which do not access secure resources. This rigorous separation of resources allows application programs to run their own external server without compromising the integrity of your security.

vCoreServer Secure Channel Manager
Through the Secure Channel Manager, the vCoreServer provides the highest level of security and authentication for wireless and online communications, and consolidates all session management functions and protocols. The vCoreServer also allows separate, independent channels to be established for client devices as well as external application servers.

vCoreServer Secure Channel Manager supports the following protocols:

SSL/DTLS (Secure Socket Layer/Datagram TLS): The PKI-based industry standard security for online communications and transactions
Application proprietary shared secret security: Secure authentication without the overhead and infrastructure of PKI

vCoreServer Crypto Manager
Through the Crypto Manager, the vCoreServer simplifies the entire encryption process with modular, standards-compliant features incorporated into Valicore’s patent-pending SMTL for template-based encryption including

Embedded crypto module that is suitable for certification as compliant to FIPS 140-2 and ISO 15408 requirements
Optional FIPS 140-2-certified Hardware Security Module for maximum protection of the encryption keys and accelerated cryptographic performance
Optional true random number generator for producing cryptographically-secure random numbers
A flexible interface to allow for addition of custom algorithms

vCoreServer Database Manager
The vCoreServer Database Manager offers complete security management database capabilities, including both internal and external databases shared across multiple vCoreServers. All databases for secure key storage and logging files are encrypted for maximum security.
